Analysis of Digipack- Kelly Rowland, Simply Deep

L-Using the rule of the thirds, Kelly Rowland dominates the centre of the album cover, but also the right hand side too. The colours in the photo fit together very well, the light background makes Kelly stand out a lot due to her having dark skin and wearing a brightly coloured top. The specific conventions of an album cover are definitely met within this cover, a dominating photo is shown, the name of the artist and album name is shown and the colours work well together.

I- The album was released in 2001 by Columbia records in collaboration with Music World Music.

I-The photo is of Kelly looking into the mirror but at us, because we are on the actual side of the mirror where Kelly is sat, because we are seeing two of her this could possibly connotate that the album is a different side to her. The fact that the albums name is 'Simply Deep' could have something to do with the fact the album cover itself is very simple, but still manages to look effective.

A-The audience of this album would generally be fans if Kelly Rowland as well as the band she was also in which is Destiny's Child. Fans of the genre R&B would also be considered an audience for this album too as in music stores and online this is the section of music the album would be placed in.

R- I think the album cover conveys a very positive representation of Kelly Rowland, it's very simple and innocent and doesn’t show Kelly trying to be something she is not. The representation is also very accurate, this was Kelly's first solo album so it just shows Kelly by herself, her signature is also on the front cover of the album too, therefore also representing just Kelly.
